The Role
This role will be based in one of our client’s major outsource clients in Slough, and will be working within the on-site team responsible for all “indirects” procurement. The “Category Manager– Property Services” will be driving the strategy for the Property Services Category, see commodity knowledge area below for details on commodity scope. In addition this person is expected, within the short term to take over the responsibility for a significant account, to lead and develop that account to that end appropriate support and development will be provided to enable this.
The areas of responsibility include:
• Developing and implementing category plans, contract strategies and client SLA’s based on spend analysis
• Responsible for mapping and driving stakeholder and supply base to meet objectives
• Taking on both project and non-project related tasks;
- Project tasks: Market/Data Analysis, Sourcing Strategies, RFx management, contract negotiation
- Non-project tasks: Managing team members to meet accountabilities in regards to Supplier Management, Contract Variations and administration, Internal/External Management Updates and team meetings
• Leading internal initiatives on technical category expertise and industry best practice
The Individual
We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic “go getter” individual, with at least 5 years of sourcing/purchasing experience in a sourcing and procurement role in either a blue chip corporate environment, or a management consultancy. The ideal candidate will correspond to the below.
Profile:
• Extensive experience of procuring complex indirect services and some experience at management level
• Leads by example and takes ownership for their team
• Motivates self and others in a collaborative approach
• Understands and applies TCO concept in constructing complex tenders and evaluation criteria
• Understands legal responsibilities and implications of decisions
• Can handle dispute resolution
• Experienced in developing and negotiating complex T&C’s
• Leads contract strategy workshops
• Thorough understanding of how to prepare and negotiate for additional value using purchasing power
• Manages key supplier relationship ensuring optimum performance
• Ability to understand and implement client sourcing/procurement policies and procedures
• Ability to develop and improve client sourcing/procurement processes for other stakeholders as needed
• Demonstrates positive, enthusiastic and energetic personality
• Team player: good interpersonal and communication skills
• Good analytical capability and presents simple solutions
Qualification:
• Degree or CIPS qualified

• Focus areas
- Property Services including facilities, building projects (including end to end experience of design/build/maintenance and building professional consultancy (e.g. surveyors, architects etc.)
